Azaan Vhora

Clinical Psychologist/Director

A lot of the people I work with are high-functioning in their day-to-day lives. They manage work, parenting, study, responsibility, and all the things they need to keep going, but internally they still feel stuck in persistent emotional patterns, distress, or unresolved trauma. My work is not about quick fixes or surface-level symptom management. It is about understanding what is happening at the root and working through it properly.

I am generally lighthearted and also direct. I will speak up for my feelings and reactions towards you and the therapy process to both strengthen our relationship and also allow you to do the same. I recognise that I will not be the best fit for everyone, which is why I screen for the people I believe I will work best with. However, if I believe there to be potential in our work together, I will deeply invest in you and ensure that the therapy process does not falter.

Therapy with me will involve some talk, but most of the time I will invite you to go inside and engage directly with the parts and experiences that need attention. At this stage of my career, I am both sure and confident in the healing process and will check in with you if it feels like we are stagnating or changing direction.

I also provide supervision and training to psychologists, and I am deeply passionate about helping therapists do good, effective work that feels meaningful and rewarding. On that note, I continue to engage in my own supervision, professional development, and training. That matters to me. I take this work seriously, and I think if you are going to sit with people in the way we do, you should keep refining your craft.
