We focus on how your experiences have shaped you, while recognising the capacity and strengths you already have. We work with you to clear the barriers that have held you back from fully living. Our work draws on approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Mindology is a private practice in Bella Vista, in Sydney’s Hills District, offering clinical psychology and online therapy.

  • Many of the people we work range in their capacity to cope with daily challenges. From those that struggle with basic self-care to others that can manage, but feel stuck in persistent emotional patterns, distress, or unresolved trauma.

Alternatively we also see individuals that have tried other therapies and are looking for something beyond strategies or symptom reduction.

Some of the challenges our clinicians can help with include:

    This includes:

    • Complex trauma

    • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

    • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

    • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

    • Anger and Aggression

    • Men’s mental health

    • Performance-related concerns (including high-functioning professionals and athletes)

We also have experience working with:

    • Migrants and culturally diverse backgrounds

    • the interaction between spirituality, religion, and cultural identity within Western living

    • Individuals involved in family separation

    • Domestic violence

Each clinician has their own areas of focus and interest.

  • We work from a neurodevelopmental and trauma-informed understanding of how symptoms develop and persist.

Rather than viewing symptoms in isolation, we understand them as organised responses shaped by brain wiring, past experiences, environments, relationships, and the ways you have learned to cope, adapt, or protect yourself over time.

This includes recognising that for some people, presentations such as Autism, ADHD, and OCD are not simply disorders to be reduced, but reflect meaningful and distinctive ways of processing, organising, and interacting with the world. Therapy can help make sense of that wiring, reduce shame, and support you to live more fully and effectively within it.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based, experiential therapies, including:

    • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

    • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP)

    • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

These approaches allow us to work beyond surface-level symptom management by engaging both mind and body to address the underlying patterns, emotional responses, and unresolved experiences that continue to affect you.

  • Start by looking through the website and reviewing each clinician’s profile.

Once you have someone in mind, you can contact the clinic through the enquiry form.

You will receive a response, and availability permitting, an initial call with the clinician you are intersted in to see if you its a good fit. You are welcome to ask questions, clarify what you are looking for, and get a feel for whether the clinician seems like the right person for you to work with.

You will then be sent an intake form, which contains the necessary information and resources to help make an informed decision on whether to commence treatment. This allows you to make the decision without pressure. If you complete the intake form, we will be in contact to book the initial appointment.

  • Individual therapy is one-on-one work with a clinician, typically held on a weekly or fortnightly basis at a consistent day and time.

This structure allows for continuity, predictability, and enough focus for the work to build over time.

At times, this may be adjusted based on clinical need. This can include increasing frequency, extending session length, or engaging in more focused or intensive work where appropriate. Any changes are discussed and agreed upon with your therapist.

  • Group therapy is currently in development at Mindology. Azaan, the Clinic Director, is currently completing PhD research in this area and hopes to bring this offering into the practice soon. Further information will be available in time.
